ZZ Plant 'Super Nova' (Zamioculcas zamiifolia 'Super Nova')
The ZZ Plant 'Super Nova' is a rare and striking variety of the classic ZZ plant, known for its deep green to nearly black foliage. Unlike the standard ZZ, 'Super Nova' features darker, more dramatic leaves, which gradually darken as they mature. This low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plant is perfect for those who want a bold, architectural houseplant without the hassle of frequent care.
Care Guide:
Light: Tolerates low to bright, indirect light. More light encourages faster growth, but it thrives even in low-light conditions.
Watering: Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly—ZZ plants are drought-tolerant and prone to root rot if overwatered.
Humidity: Prefers average indoor humidity but adapts well to drier conditions.
Temperature: Ideal range is 18–27°C (65–80°F). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C (50°F).
Soil & Feeding: Use a well-draining mix (cactus or succulent soil works well). Feed with a diluted liquid fertilizer every 2–3 months during the growing season.
Growth Habit: Slow-growing but can reach up to 2–3 feet tall over time. Its thick, waxy leaves store water, making it exceptionally resilient.
General Tips: ZZ plants are toxic if ingested, so keep them out of reach of pets and small children.
Ideal For:
✔ Low-maintenance plant lovers
✔ A bold, sculptural statement plant
✔ Homes or offices with low light
With its dark, glossy leaves and nearly indestructible nature, the ZZ Plant 'Super Nova' is a stunning, easy-care option for any space!
