Adenium ‘Ansu Baobab’ – The Miniature Desert Rose Tree 🌵🌸
Adenium ‘Ansu Baobab’ is a striking, slow-growing succulent with a thick, swollen caudex that resembles a miniature baobab tree. This bonsai-like form is topped with smooth green leaves and, in the right conditions, will bloom with vibrant pink to red trumpet-shaped flowers. It’s a bold, architectural plant that thrives on minimal care and plenty of sunlight.
Key Features:
✔ Unique swollen base (caudex) – sculptural and bonsai-like
✔ May produce bright pink-red flowers in warm conditions
✔ Very drought-tolerant and low-maintenance
✔ Compact size – ideal for pots, collectors, and sunny windows
✔ A favourite among succulent lovers and bonsai fans
Care Instructions:
Light: Needs full sun or very bright light – at least 6 hours a day
Watering: Water thoroughly only when soil is completely dry – reduce in cooler months
Soil: Use a very well-draining succulent or cactus mix
Humidity: Prefers dry air – no extra humidity needed
Feeding: Use a low-nitrogen cactus feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer
Temperature: Loves heat – 20–30°C ideal. Keep above 10°C and protect from frost
Dormancy: May drop leaves and go dormant in winter – reduce watering drastically
🌿 Tip: The more light it gets, the thicker and more dramatic the base becomes – place it in the sunniest spot you’ve got!
