Cactus - Parodia

Parodia Cactus (Parodia magnifica), also known as the Ball Cactus or Balloon Cactus, is a charming and compact cactus species admired for its round, ribbed shape and beautiful yellow flowers. With its spherical, slightly flattened body covered in soft, white spines, the Parodia adds a striking yet approachable look to any indoor cactus collection.

Hardiness:

• Indoor Hardiness: Well-suited for indoor environments.
• Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 18-26°C (65-80°F). Protect from temperatures below 10°C (50°F).

Care Instructions:

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much can scorch the cactus. A sunny windowsill is ideal.
• Soil: Requires well-draining soil. A cactus or succulent mix with added sand or perlite is ideal to ensure proper drainage.
• Watering: Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During the growing season (spring and summer), water once the soil has dried out. Reduce watering significantly during the winter.
• Pruning: Pruning is generally not needed. However, you can remove any damaged or dried-out parts as necessary.
• Feeding: Feed with a cactus-specific or diluted, balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Do not fertilize during the dormant winter months.
• Humidity: Tolerates low humidity levels and thrives in dry environments, making it well-suited for indoor conditions.
