🌵 Mixed Succulents 🌵
- 12cm Pot Size
Toxicity: Some species may cause mild irritation if ingested; best kept away from curious pets or young children.
☀️ Light
Succulents need at least 4–6 hours of bright, direct light daily to maintain their shape and colour.
Best placement is a south- or west-facing window; rotate weekly to prevent leaning.
In dimmer homes, supplement with a grow light (full-spectrum LED) to prevent stretching or fading.
💧 Watering
In summer: Water sparingly—soak the soil thoroughly, then allow it to dry out completely before the next watering.
In winter or low light: reduce the amount you water the plants significantly.
Never mist. Avoid letting water sit in leaf rosettes, especially in cooler months.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Temperature: 18–26 °C (65–78 °F) is ideal. Most species tolerate nighttime drops to 10 °C, but avoid frost.
Humidity: Low to moderate (30–50%)—succulents dislike overly humid conditions. Avoid bathrooms and unventilated kitchens.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a sharply draining mix—cactus/succulent compost or a DIY blend of 2 parts potting soil, 1 part coarse sand, 1 part perlite/pumice.
Ensure pots have drainage holes.
Repot every 2 years or when plants outgrow their bowl.
🌱 Fertilising
Feed once a month in spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertiliser (half strength).
No feeding required in autumn and winter.
Avoid overfertilising—it causes weak, leggy growth.
✂️ Pruning & Propagation
Remove any shriveled, dead, or mushy leaves to keep the bowl tidy.
Propagate easily via leaf cuttings, offsets, or stem segments—allow cut ends to callous for 1–2 days before placing on dry soil.
🐛 Common Pests & Problems
Pests: Watch for mealybugs and fungus gnats. Control with neem oil spray or insecticidal soap.
Leaf rot or black stems: Often a result of overwatering or poor drainage. Remove affected parts and reduce watering.
