Asparagus densiflorus ‘Sprengeri’ – Sprenger’s Asparagus Fern
🌿✨🌿
The Asparagus densiflorus ‘Sprengeri’, commonly called the Sprenger’s Asparagus Fern, is a lush and airy plant known for its soft, feathery foliage that creates a light, elegant display. Despite its name, it isn’t a true fern—its fine, cascading stems and bright green needle-like leaves bring a fresh, tropical feel to any indoor or outdoor space.
Key Features:
✔ Soft, arching stems with delicate, feathery foliage
✔ Fast-growing and ideal for hanging baskets or elevated planters
✔ Hardy, resilient, and easy to care for
✔ Excellent for brightening rooms with lush, light greenery
✔ Suitable for indoor décor or summer patio displays
Care Instructions:
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light, but tolerates partial shade. Avoid harsh direct sun which may scorch the foliage.
Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist; allow the top 2–3 cm to dry before watering again. Avoid letting it dry out completely.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity; mist occasionally in dry rooms.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix with good aeration.
Feeding: Fertilise every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a general houseplant feed.
Temperature: Ideal range is 18–26°C. Protect from frost and cold drafts.
Growth: Can grow 30–60 cm tall with long, trailing stems that may reach even further.
🌿 Tip: Trim back any yellowing or leggy stems to keep your Sprenger’s Asparagus Fern looking full, fresh, and vibrant year-round.
