• Soil: Grows best in rich, moist, well-draining soil with added organic matter

• Feeding: Apply a liquid fertiliser to the crown and soil every 4–6 weeks in summer

• Temperature: Hardy to around -5°C with protection; wrap crown in fleece or mulch roots in winter

• Growth: Slow-growing; fronds can reach 2–3 m long over time
